16 - Molly Days

Molly has been slowly opening up to us each day a bit more.  Yesterday, unprompted, she sat down with the kids on the floor and laid her head on Suzanne's leg.  She did this about three times.  She's still does not like to be disturbed when she is sleeping so we've learned to leave her be.  We also found a bone she likes to chew finally as other ones we got her were not a big hit.  Although she loves all food, not everything agrees with her stomach.  Its been a bit of a struggle to find the right food for her but Purina Pro Plan Sport (suggested by Gail from GPAD) seems to be the right choice.  We noticed an immediate improvement.  I can't say it works well for every greyhound off the track, but for Molly, it certainly has.  Oh, and she chewed through two cords so far that were plugged in to the wall (thus our quest to find her chew bones).  But, with a face like this how can you stay mad?

You have done such a great job highlighting the transition that occurs when a new fur-baby comes into the home. Congratulations on making Molly your baby. I hope you will continue to share stories. It really inspires me and others to consider adoption and takes the scare factor out of the process, because one realizes that greyhounds are pups first when they leave the racing arena..... patience, seeking sage advice, and leading with love are the keys to success. Best of luck.
Thank you. Appreciate it.

Tom, you are so gifted at phtographing these pups. You seem to be able to capture the "spirit" of each of them. Thanks for all your work on the blog and congratulations on your new addition!
